Importing Subscribers

If you are migrating from another newsletter platform you probably will want to import your existing subscribers. This can easily be done using our importing tool.

Before doing any importing, you'll want to first export your current list of subscribers from your existing platform.

Begin by accessing your Subscribers dashboard by clicking the icon and then clicking the link that says our handy importing tool.

From there, download the sample CSV file and open it in a program like Excel or Numbers.

The example file contains three dummy email address. Simply copy and paste the email address from the export of your current platform. Then export or save as a CSV file. Refer to the video below for more

To avoid your PencilBooth messages being flagged as Spam, we suggest you send a message to let your audience know before you send your first take to let them know they have been subscribed to your PencilBooth, and give them a chance to opt out. You can manually remove subscribers on your Audience dashboard if needed.

As a best practice when it comes to contacts you are bringing over from another service, we would suggest not sending an existing newsletter from another platform concurrently with your PencilBooth takes, as this will probably cause mass unsubscribes and potential abuse reports.

Adding subscribers manually

If you only wish to add a couple subscribers manually, and you have their consent to do so, you don't need to use the importer - simply go to your actual sign-up page and just subscribe them that way.

Note: If you have double-opt in enabled, they will need to verify before they will be subscribed.
